Announcing a transition in WYC programming for the 2023-2024 season
We are excited to share the following changes which will take effect September 2023:
- There will now be three performing groups:
- CHICKADEES – Grades 2-6 -who will rehearse on Wednesday evenings under the direction of Jorrel and Melanie. In January, 2024, direction of this group will transition to Mary-Lynn Hepple-Berti.
- RHAPSODY – Grades 6-12 – who will rehearse on Wednesday evenings under the direction of Garth and Lisa. In January, 2024, direction of this group will transition to Jorrel and Melanie
- CODA – Post-secondary (up to 25 years) – who will rehearse on Thursday evenings under the direction of Garth and Lisa.
This will be a year of transition and adjustment and we anticipate there will be a fair amount of joint work between Rhapsody and Coda during this transition time as everyone gets used to the change. As as result of this transition, Enharmony will be dissolved for the coming season. We also welcome Samson Romaniuk into the music team as Collaborative Musician. Samson is a graduate of Miles Mac and is currently studying in the Desautels Faculty of Music at the U of M. We are very excited to have him on board!
